3 Lessons from Dad The Trader
Reflections on my journey as we hit 2000 subscribers on my birthday
Hey friends,
It’s my birthday today — and hitting 2,000 subscribers on the same day feels surreal.
Looking back at life — the wins, the gut punches, the pivots and restarts — I wanted to share three lessons that have shaped me most.
1. You’re never too good to be a student. At one point, I lost six figures. Every dollar, gone. It hurt. But the journey to rebuild taught me that humility and curiosity are non-negotiables. You can have experience, talent, and momentum — but if you stop learning, the game will humble you. I’ll share more on that in a future post — there’s a lot to unpack.
2. Becoming a dad changed everything. I used to work to win. Now I work to protect, provide, and lead by example. Being a parent gave me a new kind of drive — not louder, just deeper. Discipline hits different when little eyes are watching.
3. Connections will take you further than hustle. I used to think hard work was everything. And it matters — but relationships matter more. The right conversation, the kind word, the person who vouches for you when you’re not in the room — that’s where doors open. Nurture your people. It always comes back around.
Thank you for being here. Whether you’ve been with me from day one or just joined — I’m deeply grateful for this space we’re building together.
Here’s to staying curious, staying grounded, and betting on ourselves — again and again.
